Cold Grey Saturday.

Today was a cold, grey unpleasant looking day; somehow we were too relaxed and did not notice the time.

By the time I was ready, we were too late for the market, this did not stop me from putting on my new ankle boots.

Nice to get dressed up, even to sit in the front room with Richie to watch the FA semi final, between Manchester United and Manchester City.

It was quite a game, in the second half Manchester City scored and managed to stop Manchester United from scoring.

Manchester City won by one goal, Alec Ferguson, the Manchester United manager looked like his face had turned to stone, which was hilarious.

Tomorrow is the second semi final between Stoke and Bolton; I hope Owen Coyle’s Bolton wins.

Great, if Bolton then went on to win the final, which would be brilliant for them, nice to see one of the smaller teams win the FA Cup.

I am looking forward to the game tomorrow; hope I will be able to watch it without getting too nervous.

Next weekend is Easter, the weather I hope will get better again and I can look forward to trips out in warm weather.

Blimey! it is already Monday 28 December.

Blimey it is already Monday 28 December, doesn’t time go by quickly, guess it always did, just there were times when it seemed so very slow.

This is when you are getting to understand how things work; this is when you did not know that every year the big events happen at the same time.

Like birthdays and Christmas and New Year and of course Easter and mid summer, and in Trinidad Divalli and other festivals.

And once you have experienced these events several times, you start to remember them and you start to create a schedule or map for your reference.

After awhile when you get older, you pretty much know when things will happen and time seems to speed up.

It of course just passes at the same speed as it always did and always will it is just my perception is different at 8 than it was at age 8.

It has been a bright, cold day today, according to the weather forecast it is set to get very much colder.

We could have snow and ice for the New Year, that is when we usually get it here and not before Christmas like this year.

In 1981, it was a very cold winter, my first here in Amsterdam; I could not work out how come there were so many people wearing mountaineering boots in such a flat country.

When it got cold I totally understood and quickly got a pair of stout climbing boots, which kept my feet warm.

It snowed before Christmas in 1981 and it stayed until end of February, so I really did need those stout walking boots.

Still need warm footgear just not mountaineering boots, with thick sole just ones with a thick lining.

Going to post this and enjoy watching the dogs lying peacefully in their beds and the sound of a few children playing outside.

It is 4.30 pm and it is still light which is lovely.

Very painful waking up today, felt bad asking Richie for a bag of THC so early but I was moaning in pain.

When I apologized for asking him so early he said, ' you can't get it yourself so I have to get it for you after all you didn't chose this’

Hearing him say you didn't chose this got me crying and I was sobbing' no I didn't chose this I hate this'

Quite an outburst of emotion, as soon as I started to cry then Spike was desperate to get up on the bed next to me so there was a love session with both dogs in turn.

Followed by an excellent leg massage session and arm exercises and plenty of bags of THC.

And now there is still discomfort but not the cutting pain from first thing this morning.

The dogs have gone off duty now that I am more relaxed, funny how we all trigger each other off and equally funny how once I am ok the dogs relax and concentrate on dog things.

It is a lovely day today quite warm already so could become quite a warm day which is lovely.

Real nice for the weekend for everyone, even nicer for the working people if the whole weekend were like this.

Used to dream about weather like this at the weekend after a long week at work.

Recall too many weeks at work where the weather was progressively better through the week only to be woken on a Saturday morning to the sound of dismal drizzle which could last all weekend.

Think this Easter weekend looks like it will be good.

Hope you all have a good day today.
