The End Of February.

Today is the end of February; since the snow storm last Wednesday, it has been raining every day.

Years ago, I worked for two years as a gas meter reader, a job I enjoyed very much despite days of trudging around all day in the rain.

I met some very nice people, very friendly people who offered me many cups of tea.

One person I went to, made wine, from fruit as well as tea, and nettles, I would always be offered a glass of his wine.

I also met people for whom; I would be their only visitor apart from the post and the milk.

One person, a Jehovah’s Witness tried to lock me up in her house so she could convert me, after an hour I convinced her I needed to carry on with my work.

The next time I took her keys and gave them back once I had read her meter and had a cup of tea with her, she was alright just very lonely.

Good to be able to provide some social contact for the many lonely people I met.

Sadly, as my manager needed me to read 200 meters a day I could not socialise for too long.

Wet And Dark Tuesday Today.

Marcel Duchamp.

Pouring with rain for just about all the day today, very dark and dull day, shame as the weather has been very sunny, typical lovely early autumn weather.

Love sunny cool October days, shame that at the end of the month the clock will be put back to winter time.

Always feel that I have been robbed of some of the beauty of this time of year by the clocks being altered.

Not too worried about the weather getting colder as I have got some good warm clothing and once the rain cape is ready, I am all set to cope well with the winter weather.

Now it has got colder my body seems to have adjusted and I am finding that my arms and hands are working quite well, which is good to see and feel.

Tomorrow we will be getting visitors from Germany, our friend Antje will come by for the afternoon with her daughter Ira.

Be very good to see Antje again, looking forward to her visit tremendously, she has been visiting us every year around this time.

Seeing Antje tomorrow will be very special, met her in 1993 when I was trying to get a place at Middlesex University to do Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.

Sadly she did not get a place at an English university to study medicine, as we had all hoped; instead she got a place at the University of Berlin.

The main thing is, we have remained in touch which is the best state of affairs with good friends like Antje.

Really looking forward to tomorrow, going to enjoy every moment.

Finding Friends.

Lucebert.

Taking it easy today as my fingers are very stiff and painful and it is extremely difficult to type.

Think it maybe because the weather has changed and got cooler today as well as very wet.

Found an old friend from when I used to live in Reading, Berkshire, England, that is ages ago now as I left there in 1981.

Finding David on Face book was amazing; think it must be at least 15 years since we were last in touch.

Nice to find old friends again, it certainly set off a whole train of thoughts which has been pleasant.

Finding David also helped me find another friend Susan and her two lovely daughters Sophie and India.

Quite a special day finding old friends like David and Susan again, I am very happy that I have found them again.

We have already sent each other messages which is excellent, look forward to hearing more from them soon.

Funny finding David today, as I had almost given up hope of ever finding him again, and now I have feel very happy that I have.

Today it has been a dreadful day, grey cloudy and then it began to pour with rain, became quite a rainstorm precisely when Richie wanted to go out with the dogs.

Guess they will have to wait until tomorrow now unless it is dry now and Richie has the energy left to get on his bike and nip them around the park.

Sadly it is still raining; this must have been one of the wettest summers ever and one of the quickest, two weeks in August and that was it.

Well onward and upward, tomorrow our visitors will be here and Friday is our party really looking forward to both events.
