As Much Fun As Possible.

Abstract Digital Art.

.

Spike.

Did not sleep well last night did too much thinking, about Spike every time I heard him moving around with difficulty.

But also thought about nice things like talking to Richie about our next party, after the party on September 17, he had suggested we have one on the 19 December, our 9 wedding anniversary.

Think it is a great idea, we still have 9 bottles of proseccio from September, plenty enough for December.

Will ask the same people to join us again this time, be good fun for me organising the party, getting everyone to bring something delicious to share.

September was great fun everyone enjoyed themselves enormously; it was nice to have a group of friends here for a change.

Years ago I used to organise a get together of a group of friends every Saturday, everyone brought something to eat and drink and we had a pleasant time together.

Generally I would make a big lasagne or quiches and rely on other people bringing salads, bread and deserts and wine or beer.

When I lived in Reading, England we always had such bring a plate parties, a few of us would also eat together every week, always at a different house so everyone took a turn cooking.

Additionally I usually had a few friends over for dinner once a week, really missed all of that when I was here first, and so decided to start the ‘tradition’ here.

That was also when I was the chef at a vegetarian café, enjoyed the job very much, loved thinking up the new menus, a new dish of the day, soup and salad daily.

Miss being able to cook these days, it has been a long time since I cooked anything; the last thing was a curry in early 2006 and scrambled eggs in early 2007.

Being disabled has robbed me of so much in the last 5 years, feel that I need to do everything possible to have as much fun as I can while I can.

Great Fun.

Party Pictures.

The party was really good yesterday, seven friends joined Richie Gareth, Paul and I for a very enjoyable time last night.

Richie’s food was delicious and the tabboleh, potato salad and green salad complimented the quiches excellently, as did the chutney and pickled onions.

The German chocolate biscuits Katrin brought us last Saturday went down a treat as did Richie’s cupcakes.

We have a lot of proseccio left so Richie has suggested we have another party soon,
maybe nice when Marianne is back from holiday and Anja, Willes can be here too.

I had been feeling self conscious before the party but last night when our friends were here I had no more worries.

I was very clearly just myself Herrad and my handicap was of no importance. It was not a topic of conversation as we had plenty of other things to talk about and we did.

Two friends Lin and Eva helped me to eat as my hands we were .very cramped so could not pick up my quiche slices.

Richie that he enjoyed the fact he could sit and enjoy and not have to wait to eat after helping me to eat.

It was great fun so much so we went on for an hour longer than planned until midnight, had a catheter problem at 22.45 which took a couple of minutes to resolve.

Then we rejoined the party and decided that we were having such fun to carry on for another hour.

Having Gareth and Paul staying for three days has been wonderful gave us both a tremendous boost.

So nice to spend time with good friends, one good friend, Grainne was here last night who we do not see often as she has a hectic schedule.

Another friend Eva joined us, who we had not seen for five years, felt like yesterday that I last saw her as we slipped easily into chatting and laughing.

All in all a successful party and something we intend to do again very soon look forward to the next party.

Today is a beautiful sunny day,

Best Wishes

Today is a beautiful sunny day, Richie says its warm in the sun, but the wind is cold, there is quite a stiff wind today.

The plants on the window ledge by my bedroom window are blowing around like crazy, Richie has assured me that they are ok, apparently it is as windy as out the back where they were previously.

Like them being here as there are some very pretty strawberry flowers amongst the other flowers.

It is nice to eat a sweet little strawberry everyday, they have a lot of flavour and are very satisfying.

Had quite a rude awakening this morning, when everything seemed to happen outside at once, somehow I managed to get back off to sleep again which was brilliant.

Mathilda, my friendly physiotherapist will be here in 15 minutes to put me through 30 minutes of arm exercises.

At 3 pm Anne will be round with a bottle of proseccio, and Darren will come by too, looking forward to hearing how they both are doing.

Just saw Anne’s holiday photos, from her trip to Thailand, that her father treated her and her son, Ookhai to.

Looks like they had a great time.

Any moment now my friendly slave driver will be here saying no that is number 2 you have another 4 to go.

Getting nervous about Wednesday and Thursday, Wednesday is the catheter change, and Thursday the big day when I will get put in the Summit chair for the vacuum bag to register my posture.

That is the first real step happening, will be really happy when the WMO department gives the ok for the mould to be made which will be used to make the back and the seat of the electric wheelchair.

Really happy that the money Anne and Lisa raised will pay for the extras, like getting the better cushion that I need in order to protect me from further pressure sores.

Just had a very good session with Mathilda, my arms feel good now, very relaxed which is pleasant for a change.

Also had some good news from the landlord, that they are going to give a contract to the GGGD, the public health people to place anti pigeon devices around the guttering to prevent the pigeons nesting in our building.

Going to post this and await my visitors any minute now.

The sun is shining very brigthly, hope it is shining wlsewhere.

Have a good day.

An early autumn day.

Feeling really nauseous today, that’s the effect of the antibiotics I have been taken this week, they were for a bladder infection.

So had to take them, really don’t like them as they severely de regulate your body, they make me feel sick and they constipate me, luckily the THC helps with that too.

Yesterday was horrible because of the amount of pain that I was in and added to that it was the first dark, rainy, cloudy day and really clear that autumn was here.

Mind you summer happened equally quickly here this year one minute it was 20 degrees and the next 30 degrees.

Today is a pleasanter day and will become even nicer after my shower and hair cut.

At 6 pm 3 friends will be around to drink some proseccio and eat some nibbles like cassava crackers and wasabi crackers and nuts.

Hope that I will feel up to it at 4 pm, hope so, really want the feeling of being sick to go away.

Had a success this week surprising Richie with a practise chanter, this helps you learn how to play the bagpipes.

He would love a s et of bagpipes so the chanter is a good start, and he loves it, so I am very happy.

It is nice to be able to surprise him, have managed a couple this year, got him tee-shirts for his birthday and 3 cd’s as a surprise.

The cd was Booker T and the New York Dolls which is a great mix, and best of all Richie was so pleased.

So that made me very happy, what was really good about the cd’s was I could pay via paypal so I opened an account and I can pay by logging on so Richie does not need to log me on to the bank.

PayPal is excellent for surprising my darling Richie, and it makes me so happy to see his pleasure.

I am going to keep this short; I am trying not to get too upset with finding typing and moving the mouse so difficult.

It feels like I am rolling a huge boulder up a hill covered in sticky treacle and every time I open something I close it too.

Think I shall stop now and find some pictures for today.

Have a good Friday

Slept really good last night so good that I woke up gently this morning and lay here slowly becoming aware of my surroundings.

Became aware of the pain but somehow because I slept so good and was so relaxed it did not affect me as badly as it does some mornings.

Richie performed his usual magic the leg massage, baclofen and thc with alot of TLC and then it was Marlen's turn to come up on the bed.

She was a very happy little dog indeed, glad we re-homed her as she has been such a rewarding little dog.

A good friend Cecile will be here later on with currant buns and prosecco so it is a proper friday afternoon.

Cheers hope every one has a good friday afternoon.

St. Patrick's Day and my Birthday!!!!!

Its St. Patrick's and my day today, we have always had the policy of celebrating my birthday over several days sometimes even a whole week.

St.Patrick's and my day together could not possibly be adequately celebrated on one day only.

Looking forward to a bunch of friends coming round this afternoon, Richie is making cakes.

I am quite excited about it all and even the weather got in on the act with wonderful sunshine.

I have had my birthday cuddle with Spike and Marleen has rolled around on the floor by my bed and now they are showing me how delightfully they play together.

Its my birthday and life is good!

Here's to life.

Not such a nice day as yesterday today it’s grey and raining, well drizzle hours of drizzle.

Not an inspiring day not like yesterday but it is a day for doing things just a shame no sun.

Yesterday was pretty upset that Ton, the nurse did not have a good report about the sore, he measures it every time.

Was so hoping for that special birthday present for coming Tuesday just have to get off it now and pick myself back up again.

No point crying before I need to cry but it did knock me for six yesterday will have to be patient and wait which I find so very difficult to do.

Oh well perhaps its good news next time Ton visits let’s hope so and in the meantime I am going to enjoy today sun or no sun.

First I have my fysio session where I will do lots of arm exercises and then Mathilde moves and massages my arms.

After the fysio session Anne and Cecile will visit, Cecile will bring a bottle of prosecco left over from her birthday party.

We will drink a toast to life and friendship.
