A Pleasant Monday.

James Gleeson.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Gleeson

Today has been another cold day, it started off grey, cloudy but happily the sun broke through at lunchtime.

Cold and sunny is lots better than cold and dreary weather so the sunshine made us both feel cheerful.

The postman brought me a few things I bought on EBay, a pair of harem pants, a tie dye long sleeved shirt.

I also got a pretty silver ring in the shape of a spider and a pair of amethyst stud earrings.

Best of all I rediscovered a birthday present that I had not noticed on my birthday, a pair of gorgeous red dangle earrings.

It felt like a new birthday present which was nice, quite glad that I had not noticed them before.

There were so many lovely presents from Richie that I got distracted by other pretty things.

Mathilde came round at 14.00 for my physiotherapy session which went very well.

We had a late lunch after she went and then I used the Motomed, for 40 minutes of leg exercises.

Later on at 19.00 our good friend, Lin from The British General Stores brought us some things from her shop like crumpets, oatcakes, pork & apple sausages and HP sauce.

Saturday Morning Surprise Waking Up.

Giuseppe Verziano.

Our good friend Lin, from The British General Stores came by to visit me yesterday, it was as always lovely to see her.

Good of Lin to come by especially after working in her shop and staying late to do her ordering and administration.

Her shop is worth a visit for those in Amsterdam, and if you ever visit here I recommend you visit Lin’s lovely shop.

Slept very well and very soundly this was good, even managed to fall asleep again when I woke up early this morning.

Today started slightly different than I had expected it to start, we woke late morning, and Richie came over to kiss me, before fetching me some THC.

As he left the room I moved my hands under the duvet, my left hand was difficult and would not move upwards easily.

Tried to touch my left leg and thought it felt cold, touched it again and realised that I was damp and that I must be lying in a pool of urine.

Told Richie when he came back in with the THC vapour for me, he looked under the duvet and said I was right.

So instead of a gentle start to the day, drinking tea, chatting and slowly waking up Richie had to hoist me out of the bed right away and take me to the bathroom.

Glad that I have got an appointment with the urologist on 4 November to talk and 26 November for the poli clinic operation for the supra pubic catheter.

Can’t come soon enough for me now especially after the nasty surprise this morning, hope that once I have the new catheter that those nasty surprises will be a thing of the past.

Let us all enjoy today and make tomorrow even better for all of us.

Had another sweat free night of sleep, it was brilliant actually slept until 9.30 am.

Then Richie massaged the pain out of my legs and just as I had taken the first set of baclofen tablets of the day Lin from The British General Stores came round with a bagful of goodies from her shop.

Often have a look at her website and do the virtual reality tasting tour as I sample scones and clotted cream and eat a packet of crisps or cheddar cheese on crackers with a touch of onion chutney.

Reading Steve’s post on The Wheel of Fortune ‘His laughter is my drug of choice’ I recognized what he wrote about laughter, it rang lots of bells for me..

When I stopped smoking joints a year ago for a wee while my sense of humour had gone, very upsetting and odd not to spend lots of time laughing with Richie.

Had the same ten years ago when I stopped smoking cigarettes, and then too suddenly could not even manage a smile.

After I got used to the vaporizer my laughter came freely again, except now I have to watch for the spasms triggered by laughing.

Glad that I could laugh again as really love being able to hang out or lime as we say in Trinidad with my darling Richie.

More thoughts were triggered by reading other blogs keep seeing posts advocating more research be done to find a cure for MS.

Wouldn’t it be so much better that instead of billions being spent on warfare it were put into researching degenerative diseases and others such as spinal injuries.

I also think people need to know what is happening to them as soon as possible and that means screening and testing people.

This calls for free universal health care for all, health care should not be a commodity that profits can be made on at the cost of people and the communities they are from.

The health of a community is its greatest asset and it is healthy people that carry the community forward.

A diverse and vibrant community that wants to live and let live and be supportive to each other.

There have been many mistakes made which can not be corrected maybe it is time not to look back saying ‘What if’ or ‘If only’ and say ‘ Let us do something now’

If everyone did something kind everyday I bet life would be much better for us all as what goes round comes round.
