More About Tina.

Day two with Tina, she is a delightful little dog, even though its early days, yet already the three dogs seem to be working things out between them.

Marleen has let Tina know she is the top dog, Cyril had a wobble yesterday, he got worried and insecure, but a visit to the pet shop for tripe, dry tripe chews as well as new toys soon cheered him up.

This morning Richie got up early, to take the dogs to the park, when they returned Marleen, Cyril and Tina were very happy dogs.

They ran around jumping into dog beds, and then back out again, all at top speed, almost like whirling dervishes, they kept this up for more than 30 minutes

Tina had to be introduced to dog beds, yesterday she immediately wanted to sit on the sofa and chew her smelly tripe chew, she didn’t understand, she does today.

The next thing is to get her totally house trained, at the moment she has not made the connection between going out to the dog toilet and peeing or pooling.

This afternoon she came back from the dog toilet and had a pee, then a poo under the table in the front room.

I am sure Richie will be able to help Tina make the connection soon, she is a clever wee dog, will soon be house trained.

The good news is Tina likes us all, she has started to defend the house by barking at potential intruders, I am so happy she has made her mind up that this is her new home.

Pleasant Sunday.

A good night’s sleep really made me feel better today, woke up and found Richie and the dogs ready to go out for a long walk in the woods.

As it was only 08.00 I requested THC and slept on until 11.00 when Richie got back with two very happy dogs.

So happy they have been relaxed and quiet apart from the odd bark at a passing dog.

I am feeling much better than yesterday, probably also because Richie cut and hennaed my hair, which feels and looks good.

Tomorrow Arden, a friend from Ft Lauderdale will be visiting; she is here in Amsterdam with her partner for 5 days.

Be great fun to see her again, we met at a hairdresser in 2006 and got talking and have been in touch ever since.

Arden is a wonderful woman, who I would love to live nearby, be brilliant to have a friend like her close by.

So seeing her as much as possible this week is going to be great fun and such a good laugh, look forward to her stories of her life.

It is also pleasant change from our usual week, where quite often only my physiotherapist visits us.

Monday, 13, December 2010. Today Has Been A Strangely Pleasant.Day.

A Dog Named Picasso.

Today has been a strangely pleasant day despite the weather being very dull today, had the light on as soon as Richie opened the curtains this morning.

Spike is so obviously weaker but amazingly he is still interested in everything around him, Marleen and he were very sweet together.

This morning they lay quite close to each other, mirroring how each other were lying, a lovely picture seeing them so peaceful and happy together.

In the afternoon Richie took Marleen and Spike to the park, Spike only walked a short distance before making it very clear he could do no more.

Instead he stood in his wheelchair having a wonderful time barking and watching Marleen running to catch sticks Richie threw for her.

It has always been a favourite game of Spike’s watching Marleen playing tug or chasing the ball while he refereed the action.

Even though he could not do much, Richie says it was very obvious he was enjoying himself enormously.

The dogs returned happy from the park and devoured their dinners and both slept for a couple of hours.

This evening has been pleasant, sitting relaxing together in the front room with our two lovely dogs.

Really enjoying this time together with our lovely Spike, very aware this special time will be over too soon.
