Looking Forward.

Last Friday I got my new lenses, Richie had taken my spectacles to the optician’s on the Thursday afternoon.

Friday afternoon Richie went to fetch my glasses with the new lenses, which had been put in by Andre, the optician.

Friday afternoon it was good getting the glasses back, but it became instantly very obvious my eyes needed to get used to the bifocal lenses over a few days
.
Saturday and Sunday, I took it extremely easy and managed to read and write with some difficulty.

Today, I was hoping that my eyes would have got used to the new lenses and there would be no more problems.

Sadly my eyes are still not 100% used to these lenses; I shall wait and see what it is like tomorrow.

If I have any doubts tomorrow I shall discuss it with Richie and then get in touch with Andre in the day.

Should these lenses still not work for me Andre will have to come back and measure my eyes again.

I am hoping that tomorrow my eyes will have become accustomed to the lenses and I will not have anymore problems reading my e-mails or comments on my blog.

Keeping Calm.

Really such a relief to know that my eye problems are being caused by the lenses are too strong for me.

Finally makes sense now what is happening with my eyes, could not understand it but can now understand that initially the glasses are ok.

Then after two hours they become too much, this is because of the too strong lenses, all the time I thought my MS was progressing.

And it is not progressing into eyesight; I am so happy about that, feel almost as though I have been given something.

Funny how I make the best of things, even this eyesight hiccup, that is all it is, mind you until the new lenses are here, it is really difficult to cope with.

I hate the way that after wearing the glasses for awhile, my sight starts getting worse and I can not read emails.

I have to increase the font size from 11 to 18 in order to read the words and respond; this was getting me very worried.

All I have tp do now is swop glasses, my old ones and recent spectacles.
And most important of all I  must try my very best to keep calm.

New Spectacles.

Alberto Giacometti.

I am starting to feel abit better today, glad that I am no longer on the antibiotics as they seem to really drain me of energy.

Today is going to be a short post as Richie is taking my glasses in right now so that the optician can put in the new lenses that I need to have.

Right now I am using my old glasses which are ok but not ideal, so I do not want to strain my eyes by too much close work.

Looking forward to getting my new glasses tomorrow afternoon at 16.00 when Richie can go and collect the updated spectacles, for me.

Will be good to get the updated glasses tomorrow afternoon, shame that I have to wait so long.

Last year the optician made my new spectacles the day after he came and measured my eyes for the new glasses.

I can hardly wait for my new glasses as already after just 30 minutes, the old ones are starting to bother me quite abit.

Richie has just gone down to the opticians now and will come back via the market and MyCom.

Once I have posted this I shall have to take it very easy and sadly that means no reading or writing for me until tomorrow afternoon.

Beautiful Day.

=

Russian Art.

It is a beautiful day today, going to enjoy it especially as the weather forecast is for rain for the rest of the week.

In an hours time I will be getting a visit from an optician to test my eyes for a new pair of glasses.

Quite exciting that I have got this organised, brilliant that an optician is prepared to come round.

What is even better is the fact it is a shop not far from where we used to live, nice to be giving the money to an independent shop.

http://www.vroomennobbe.nl/ on the Elandsgracht, Amsterdam.

Did try Pearle and Spec Savers could not help me, well Pearle said no light away whereas Spec Savers hoped they could help.

When they found they could not help the spokesperson looked on the internet for a few links that maybe able to provide the service.

Quite amazing she was so helpful, not something that ordinarily happens here, unless you specifically ask you won’t get an answer.

For example you are at a bus station and ask a driver if his bus goes to x and if he says no then you have to ask him which bus will get you there.

He or she won’t of their own accord say ‘no this bus does not go there but bus 8 will get you there’.

This is an approach you almost never get here, do not know whether it is an Amsterdam thing or countrywide.

Maybe an Amsterdam thing as they are known for being rude people.

Just had the optician here, what a charming man, he did it all in 45 minutes, he really did it well, it was no problem for him that I am in bed.

My new glasses are very light, there is no coloured rim so the view is better without edges, the arms can be bent anyway you want.

I am very pleased with them; think the new glasses will be better for me and not as heavy and bulky as my present ones.

All in all a good appointment, I shall be getting the new glasses quite quickly probably in 10 days.

I am going to post this and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the sunshine and the pleasant feel of the outside air coming in through the open window.
