Being Philosophical.

Roberto Matta.

It's lovely to see that the change in the temperature still happens quite suddenly, last week Friday was a beautiful warm sunny day but not this Friday.

The weekend was not quite as warm but it was still warm enough for Mathilde, my physiotherapist to sit up on her roof terrace enjoying the weather.

On Monday this week it was also warm enough, it was 24°, for me to enjoy the window being open all afternoon until 1800 then it started become too cold.

Since Monday it is not being warm enough for me to be able to have the windows open again which is a shame, but Monday was an unexpected treat

While it has been cooler up to now it has not been very cold yet, but apparently it's all set to become much colder from this evening.

According to the English weather forecast the temperature is going to drop from 14° during the day today to 9° during the day tomorrow.

I guess being as it is now the 25th of October it is absolutely correct that the temperature should be getting colder now.

Right now I am feeling quite philosophical about winter approaching; I've decided that I'm not going to get worked up about the cold weather.

There is no point in getting upset about it becoming winter and I'm not going to this year, instead I'm going to enjoy it and look forward to spring and summer 2013.

Moments.

Roberto Matta.

After I woke up morning I started to cry, usually I try to hold back the tears, but once they start it is difficult to stop again.

Today it was more difficult to do so; my whole situation was really getting to me, and especially knowing there's nothing I can do to change it.

How I wish there was because I would do everything I could, but sadly it is neither in my power nor in the power of my darling Richie.

Richie does so much for t and I don't just mean the physical care, he makes my life so much better, he always has.

Crying has a function, today it was necessary to relieve the pressure that has accumulated recently.

One thing I'm about is that tell Richie immediately that I was depressed and could see no chance of my prospects improving.

It’s pretty depressing being in bed so long again, with seemingly no chance of going outside.

Sometimes it feels like I will never experience that again, when I had to go to the hospital recently I was briefly out in the fresh air and it was wonderful.

Even though it was only for a few minutes between the front door and getting into the ambulance still it was gorgeous to be outside.

Luckily the weather was wonderful that day, it was warm and sunny, sadly I did not see much of this beautiful city through the ambulance windows.

The crewmember who sat in the back with us told me where we were passing which was very nice of him.

Those few minutes outside were wonderful.

Pink Roses.

Myrtille Henrion Picco

This afternoon a great friend, Anja came by to visit, she brought us a delightful bunch of lovely pink roses which unusually for here had a gorgeous delicate scent.

It was great to see Anja, one of my best friends, someone who knows me well and someone I trust 110%.

She is a wonderful woman, lovely to think that I have had the pleasure to know her now since 1984.

Amazingly that is twenty six years ago now, how wonderful, shame she no longer lives in Amsterdam.

Now she lives an hour and a half away, today she came straight from work to visit with us and was here until 17.00.

We had a very pleasant visit during which Anja helped me with a couple of admin things, which are sorted now, a relief and now there is nothing for me to worry about.

All set to enjoy the weekend now, whatever the weather is like I intend to enjoy it tremendously.

While she was here there was a brief glimmer of sunshine, seems that the weekend will be dryer and brighter and next week will be nice warm weather.

That’s what Anja said and I really hope she is right as a brief return of summer would be an unexpected treat for us all.
