First Tomato and Good News.

Two good things happened yesterday, first Richie came in with our first tomato and let me eat it, it was delicious.

I had been trying since Monday, without success to get Ton, the nurse from the RCA on the phone, needed to know which day he was doing a house visit.

Then just as I thought Ton as not coming around , he turned up, which was good now neither of us had it hanging over us.

It was good that he came as there wa good news about the pressure wound, it is 2 mm, looks like a tiny cut.

Seems the end is really in sight, it is slower than we had hoped but it is happening and well as the tissue has built up nicely so the gap that was the wound has filled up well.

Ton was very pleased that the wound was looking so good and after chatting with us he left, promising to email me the precise date when he would visit again in two weeks time.

Brilliant news just what we need as tomorrow it is one year since I had to stay in bed 24/7.

Hate the thought of a whole year gone where I have not been able to go out, hate the restrictions.

Really hate it, but this year has also been good, I have met alot of good people via the Blog sphere.

My writing has improved and my arms have too because I exercise everyday and since this morning also use the weights that go around the wrists for added strength.

I feel better about myself, have had a year to look at my reactions to things and analyse my behaviour.

It has been a year of being very conscious of what I do have in my life, have become aware that despite the disability my life is good.

I have a great love with Richie, who is a sweetheart and looks after me so very well and brilliant supportive friends and two lovely dogs.

Glad I have been able to use the year well and realise and understand my situation much better.

Have learned to take things one step at a time, to stop second guessing, decided that I did not need to create stress.

Do not need to know everything that will ever be likely to happen, better to live for and in the moment and enjoy everything that I can enjoy.

Well in 15 minutes is our second appointment about the adaption’s to my electric wheelchair, we shall see what happens.

I am feeling quietly confident, can’t do more than that as it is a scorcher just as it was forecast.

They came before I could post, the meeting was very useful, the next appointment is with Summit, the company that makes made to measure seats and back rests.

So next week we will meet Elwin and we will find out more about how they make their product.

I am very excited about it now and have confidence that the wheelchair will be well adapted.

Have a good day, we are enjoying it very much.

First I want to thank you for congratulating me on my award. I am no better than I was with the Hoy award as far as links and so forth. We have been getting a few tomato's off our vines and they are so good. Herrad, I remain a truly admiring person, in regards to your fighting back the disease in everyway you do.
I am wishing you the best on your chair. You are truly remarkable.

Hi Rain,
Thanks for coming by, hope you had a good day.
The ''pack'' went out and got caught out in a downpour, apparently the dogs did not mind they were too busy running and playing.
I am very pleased that Summit will be doing the adaption of the w/chair.

Hi Webster,
Thanks for the happy dance.
We are very happy about the decision.

Hi Jan,

Thanks everyone for coming by and leaving a comment.
Have a good Friday.

This post filled my heart with happiness, Herrad. The pictures are breathtaking. So much so I must tell my best friend, Dylan, to come look at the butterflies. She dearly loves butterflies.

You have good reports all around! If everyone had a portion of your amazing attitude this world would literally glow. Your posts make us all think, Herrad---about what we have, and if we truly appreciate what we have. I love how you're willing to be in the "now" and not so far in the future you miss the moment.

I am thankful for every visit from you. Thank you so much, Miss Sunshine.

Love you~~~

Ah Herrad, I am so glad with the good news! Where will you go? What would give you the most pleasure?
And a first tomato eaten straight from the plant, that is a pleasure indeed.

Hi Lille Diane,
Lovely to see your comment, tell Dylan to type in butterflies or butterflies and flowers and select images and there are masses to choose from.

Hi Celeste Maia,
The tomato was very good indeed, am looking forward to a tomato salad soon.
My first trip out will be down to my neighbours porch and sit with her.

Thanks both of you for co0ming by, big hugs.
Today I am in bed a year, the end is finally in sight.

Don't forget to make bumper stickers for your newly adjusted chair.

"I'm hell in bed, and I have the wounds to prove it!"

"How'd I get so good in bed? Years of practice."

"Screw you and your threshold."

"No accessible bathroom? No wonder your plants look so healthy."

Herrad said...

Hi Steve,
Great idea, think I would go for
''Screw you and your threshold''
