One year in bed today.

Today it is one year since I have been in bed 24/7, not exactly celebrating just noticing the date.

Got Richie to give the dogs a biscuit just because I had sudden upsurge of affection for the wee darlings.

They are so happy, which is quite infectious, nice to have them rush in so cheerful and happy and full of it in the mornings.

They love the morning ritual of greeting us and being cuddled and then joyfully playing to show us what fine dogs they are.

Richie made me a delicious orange and banana smoothie for breakfast and herring salad with sour cream potatoes and beetroot, fresh parsley, gherkins and a hint of hot pepper for lunch.

Just had his banana/coconut chocolate chip ice cream and a space (thc)chocolate brownie which was delicious.

The brownie is another way of consuming thc, think it will relax me as I have been in quite abit of pain today.

Richie plans to make fish and chips tonight with aioli which I love, even nicer than mayonnaise and so much healthier because there are no eggs involved, just garlic and olive oil.

It is one of those hot days where it looks intermittently not so nice but it is just that there are many clouds around today.

So one minute the sky is blue and the sun hot and then a whole swathe of clouds pass by and it gets cool and darker only for the sun to pop up out from the clouds.

Listening to Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode doing the Friday afternoon film review, Kermode, its a good listen.

Tonight at 7.30 there is a new program which I am curious about with Fred Macaulay, a good Scottish comedian.

Followed by the Archers, which is on everyday at 8 pm, the program has been on the radio since the 1950’s, it is about a small farming community somewhere in England, called Ambridge.

Can hardly believe that it is already 5 pm here, we had a very slow and relaxed start to the day today which was very pleasant.

I have been joining Richie this week and having a wee cup of coffee when he
does and this morning we had a very leisurely cup while the dogs played around us.

The cake is working I am starting to feel more relaxed and the pain in my legs has retreated into the background.

Have a very good Friday.

Hi Herrad! I love hearing you talk about Spike and Marleen! Their happiness is very infectious! All I have to do is look over at my two and I get a smile on my face. They're both sleeping on the sofa right now...it's another brutally humid day, but not too hot, 25C, but 36C with the humidity. The fans are helping! Your food sounds so delicious! I'm planning on chicken fajitas covered with salsa, sour cream and melted cheddar cheese for dinner tonight! One year...gosh. Makes me think back to the past year of my life too...how things have changed! Have a great evening, I'm glad the space brownie is delicious and doing it's job too!

The entire day's menu sounds delectable Herrad, wow the ice cream and brownie---send some over! :)

I was practically drooling at the fish and chips too, ahhh!

You've been through a lot and one solid year in bed, is unbelievable you haven't tossed the computer out the window at times in frustration like I would have felt like doing!

So far this morning Koda has eaten dog kibbles mixed with scraps from breakfast of oven roasted fingerling potatos (tossed w oil and garlic then baked), scrambled eggs w sauted mushrooms and bacon! he has chased his ball, played with a bagel like it was a hockey puck and now he is asleep on the floor. What a dog's life!

Have a great evening

Hi Herrad!
It's funny that you are talking about the infectious nature of the dogs, I have written a post today about the Therapy of Animals and how my cats help me. It seems that I was onto something!
And this afternoon, I fell asleep and Kit Kat came and curled up with me. We have had lovely cuddles all afternoon. She definitely knows when I don't feel so good.
You sound like you are having a lovely feast today, beautifully looked after by Richie, of course!
A year in bed, wow, but I agree with Libby, you have found so much to help fill your time and you have so much support, love and good wishes from so many people from all corners of the world. That in itself is something to treasure!
Much love & hugs
Amelia XxXxX

Dearest Herrad:

I always find loyal happy doggy companionship to be the best. That's not saying Richie doesn't do a fine job also LMAO.

Hope your having a great evening enjoying those special brownies and scrumptious food delights.

Hopefully you'll be out of bed and out in the fresh Autumn knocking on the door air soon.

Just my small wish coming from a friends heart to you this day.

I remember when you first said you were in bed 24/7. Doesn't seem like a year, but then sometimes it seems like a decade. It's good to notice rather than celebrate.

If anyone questions the value of dogs (and some people do), they just have to hear you talk about the infectious happiness.

You and Richie inspire us all. Enjoy the weekend -- and the dogs -- and the smoothies -- and even the beautiful fish pictures. Know we are all there with you (unless you need some privacy).

You are AMAZING Herrad. You truly are! I don't know how you do it---a year in bed. But I am sure Richie is a big reason why your spirits stay so good....And the doggies...Oh Yes! To have them be so spirited and glad for your affection..WONDERFUL!

Those pictures are quite remarkable, by the way. Where are they from? Do you have a Big Fish Tank? Anyway, they are Beautiful and so very colorful!
It's been very Humid here and Overcast as if it might Rain....But, it probably won't....!
Hope you enjoyed your lovely supper, my dear!

Hi Herrad,
Loved the pics. Reminds me of the first time I visited Buccoo Reef in Tobago. They gave me the goggles that had those magnified lenses, and wow. I remember feeling so surreal, like it was a whole new world. I was in awe of the beautiful colours in your photos--the coral and fishes.

Your dogs seem to bring you much joy, like Amrita's. I'm so glad for that. My 16-yr-old son is getting baptized on Sunday and I'm so blessed. He just makes my heart glad with his love for people and God.

Hey, have you ever heard Ingrid Michaelson sing "Love me the way I am"? It's this jazzy soulful love song I fell in love with. Check it out on Youtube.
Anyway, blessings,
Love, Sita
