A Dark Grey Cloudy Day

A total contrast to the sunny bright day yesterday, it is a dark, grey, cloudy damp day, it looks thoroughly miserable.

Classic Monday weather to cheer up all those going to work, blimey feel myself really wishing I could be one of those grumbling workers going to my job.

When I worked the weekends always disappeared in double time and we are back at work within 5 minutes it seemed after we said goodbye on the Friday.

Funnily enough time still goes by super quick, one minute it is Monday and then Mathilde, my physiotherapist is already back for our Thursday session.

And then before I know it its Monday again and Mathilda will be here soon.

Need to organise some friends to come to visit me, recently I have not been organising visits and have been relying on friends getting in touch.

Obviously need to get more active and make myself known so people can react, better to do that than say nothing and feel hurt.

Feeling hurt and not saying anything does not make sense and is not making good use of my friends.

If I value them I will call on them and let them know this, good to ask for things you need, good to be asked.

A win win situation for everyone involved.

Had a not so good night last night, after sleeping every night for over a week it was not nice to find myself not falling asleep.

It was most frustrating especially as for hours it felt like I was on the verge of sleeping but it never happened.

And when I did drift off to sleep it was only briefly, ended up being resigned to my fate and then finally drifted off to sleep.

Only to be woken minutes later it seemed, by Richie getting up and turning the heating on and playing with the dogs.

While they were playing I did my arm exercises which were very painful today, my arms were stiff.

After a lot of noise and activity suddenly Richie and the dogs were quiet and I realised they were asleep at that very moment I drifted back off to sleep.

It was good to get some sleep as I now feel able to cope with the day, shame the clouds do not look like they will go away today.

Maybe there will be sun later no who knows it could happen at any moment and I am ready to enjoy the moment.

Hi Herrad-
"blimey feel myself really wishing I could be one of those grumbling workers going to my job."
I had someone actually tell me how lucky I was that I don't "have" to go to work anymore! I would love to be able to go to work rather than deal with the ugly MS monster!!

I'm glad you were able to get back to sleep. I hope you have a great day-even though it is grey!

Love,
Erin

Hey Herrad! :)
I hope you get some sun, I know how that has brightened my mood drastically the last few days! Glad you got some more sleep, I'm downright miserable when I'm exhausted. Take care!

I love your comments about being pro-active in getting some friends over and not being hurt if you haven't said anything. Although saying something and then getting no response is something that's been disappointing for me. But I still need to try -- the isolation of the chronic illness experience is huge especially living alone.

Good luck on seeing some sun! I think the big round ball will be theoretical concept in my neck of the woods for quite a while.

Hi Herrad-

I hope the clouds go away soon! I'm sorry that you weren't able to seelp...I've had nights like that where it just doesn't happen. Hopefully things will go well tonight.

I agree with you 100% on the friends bit. Sometimes I fall into the pattern of waiting for people to contact me...and it doesn't always work out. This is a great reminder!

I'll try to send some CA sunshine your way... :)

Herrad, Thanks for the reminder to be proactive about contacting friends. I often feel awkward about asking them to come visit me, when all I can do is sit and talk. But if they don't want to do that, I guess they could always say no. If I don't want to feel isolated, I need to make the effort.

The Zoomdoggies are happy to hear that Spike is enjoying the vacation from his crate!

Being proactive is not easy but we have to in order not to get isolated.
Hope your day is good.

You always have the best artwork on your posts, love that second on in particular.

Oh, it is always hard to be unrested. I somehow managed a two hour nap earlier and I'm thrilled!

I don't much like the dark and chilly days either. Today was bright and sunny, then much to everyone's surprise, it started snowing! So far, we've had no snow this Winter. Good thing it didn't even think of sticking.

I love my sleep. I think it is my favorite thing to do. Sorry you keep waking up, but glad you were able to fall back to sleep after the arm exercises.
