Still Can't Believe It.

Gareth with his Homegrown Onions and Photos From Wales.

Slept well last night and have taken it very easy today, still rather overwhelmed by the news yesterday that the pressure sore is healed up.

Almost still can't believe it so have been telling myself again and again that yes it is true, it has healed up.

Yippee it is healed!

Nearly 14 months later, seems unreal now but know only too well that is has been more than real.

So glad that I did not feel the full extent of the pain, Richie has told me that the wound was really horrible.

He said he had never seen anything so wide and so deep, so happy now that I did not want to see the photos.

It was bad enough having to stay in bed 24/7 and not be able to sit up even in bed on the air pressure mattress.

Feeling the full pain would have made it totally unbearable.

As it is it has been extremely difficult, Richie has looked after me very well, which made it easier for me to cope.

Glad it is coming to an end, but sad when I heard that the paperwork has not been sent to the Amsterdam City Council yet.

It is three weeks since the modelling session and we had really hoped that this week we would hear that the Summit could make the adaptations.

Have no idea when we will hear now, still hoping that it happens before the end of the month.

Whether I will be able to go the gig at the Melkweg is for now a huge question mark, as I need to start sitting slowly.

To begin with I can sit for an hour at a time and then a week later for another hour, so if I do not have the adapted chair a week before the end of the month at least then I can forget the gig.

I need at the very least three weeks to build up my sitting capacities so that I can be able to sit through the concert.

Shall do my very, very best to keep calm and try to get through these last weeks.

The friendship and support of all my friends has helped me to live through this extremely trying time.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me.

Herrad, You must call Marlene or Ton and have them make a phone call on your behalf. It wasn't your fault that this happened, and to be fair a little expedition on your behalf is reasonable. Perhaps a call to your physician would help as well. You deserve this.

Oops, I almost forgot! The pictures of Gareth's homegrown onions and the Wales countryside in Fall were lovely. Thank you. You always find such nice photos.

Hi Herrad! Am glad to see a post! What a great photo of your friend and the onions, Ive grown chives but not onions, i bet those taste great.

I thought of you yesterday when at the grocery store I saw a bottle of pink Prosecco(spelling?)anyway, now that I know where to find it I think the day you go outside I will toast a glass to you my overseas friend! :)

Just got back from the dog park, enjoyed that as it gives reprieve from the real world.

HUGS

Herrad - how wonderful to have the wound officially healed. Those pressure sores are so slow to heal and I agree, it's best for the person with the wound not to see it.

I am frustrated to hear the paperwork hasn't been submitted. Why the hell not? I'm sure you're asking this question yourself ... hope you're satisfied with the responses you're getting.

I am so gald to hear the news! Just remember NOT to push yourself. Your going to be using muscles you haven't used is a bit. Hopefully your chail will arrive in plenty of time for your gig. Keep us posted!

Thanks for all your awesome support. Your one VERY special lady!

I'm glad you are better. I do wish the chair was ready for you so you could practice sitting.

If you don't make it to the concert, there will be others ...

Things to look forward too for sure ...

Hi! Herrad
You must get somebody to speak to your city Councillor and even the local news to push the bureaucracy to move their butts !! I work for the government and I know any complaints to the Minister are expedited, so please give it a try.
So glad that you are healed

Hi Webster,
Thanks for your suggestions, however don't think I can do anything to hurry up the paperwork much as want to.
My doctor has no leverage here, the council and their advisors do as they like when they like.
Gareth sends me his photos to put on blog.

Hi Stephany,
Thanks for your comment, hope you can but the prosecco soon.
Dogs are love.

Hi Cranky,
It is great that it has healed, we are both abit down that there is no progress on the chair, want to go out now.
The responses are the usual autocratic nothing responses.

Hi Anne,
Thanks for the congratulations, Richie has been brilliant, could not have done it without him.

Hi Kimberly,
Thanks for your support too, it has really kept me going.

Hi Rain,
It has been a sunny day, been busy finishing off the paperwork.

Hi JC,
I shall practice sitting on the edge of the bed supported by Richie and the physiotherapist.
Not too many punk concerts these days but who knows.

Hi Carole,
Don' think that I can get the paperwork hurried up,will see but here you can't seem to hurry anything.
Tried to get the papers interested when we still in our old flat.
2nd floor no lift and could not go out from June 2006 to May 2007 when we came here and could no longer get out indecently.
Local papers were not interested.

Thanks everyone for coming by and supporting me so brilliantly these past 14 months.
Have a good weekend.
Love,
Herrad
