Pictures of Amsterdam.

We just had Ton, the nurse visiting to inspect the wound and he says its nearly healed.

Ton says that as I will be able to sit for a very short period he is going to organise an appointment for the team to come here from the Rehabilitation Clinic.

They will evaluate how I am sitting and that information will be used to adapt my wheelchair.

Quite exciting as this is now the final stage we have been waiting for so long for.

Shame that by the time I can get out it will be near the end of summer, so wanted to be outside in May/June.

Oh well will have to buy some good wheelchair clothes like a good warm jacket (have none that fits) and something that looks like a sleeping bag for the lower half of the body.

Think I will be very sensitive to outside temperature as I have not been out since last August

And of course some trousers and tops really have nothing much to wear, so much of what I have was suitable for when I was mobile.

Have to get clothes that are easy to get on and off.

Well what wonderful luxury problems working out clothing for outside, did not think I would get the opportunity to go out again but seems it will happen.

So realistically it will be end of August/September before I am ready for trips up the market ands other excursions, will work out how to get to the Coffeeshop Basjoe to see James and Leo.

Have to do that while it is still nice weather so we can hang out on the terrace and enjoy a fruit smoothie and a piece of James special cake.

It is a wonderful cake looks like it it tie dyed; it is wonderful looking and tastes delicious, a real Caribbean cake.

Speaking of which hope Richie organises food and water soon as its nearly 1 pm already and Mathilde, my physio will be here to put me through 30 minutes of exercises.

Looking forward to seeing Mathilde and doing the exercises, she is a very good physio and a really lovely person.

She always gently teases me which is very nice and I pretend she is a dreadful slave driver who tortures me everytime ands she pretends to love doing so.

We laugh a lot when she visits.

Great to have such positive news, it is especially good to know that Ton will set the wheels in motion to organise the adaption of the chair.

Plan to use the money that Lisa T Brass & Ivory http://brassandivory.blogspot.com/

and Anne at Disabled not Dead http://disablednotdead-anne3.blogspot.com/

raised towards a good cushion for the electric wheelchair (Elro here), the money will fill the gap between what they will give you here and what I need to have.

Going to have a wander round the blog world will visit among others K.P @ http://kparthas.blogspot.com/

Debra @ Living with MS http://living-with-ms.blogspot.com/

Steve and BR @ The Wheel of Fortuna http://spinfortunaswheel.blogspot.com/

Can't hardly believe it but a nurse put 30cc of water into BR's catheter which has caused him tremendous amount of pain, constant spasms and extra bladder infections.

Luckily they got an appointment with a urologist who when she finally listened to them adjusted the water level to 10 cc.

Hopefully this will be the resolution to the extreme pain BR has been having this last time.

Hi Jen,

It is starting to get exciting but still have to be patient and wait for the evaluation of how I am sitting and hope the adaptions can happen quickly.

But who knows it could all happen soon.

Herrad

I remember the first time I had "special cake" in an Amsterdam coffee shop. Well actually, I don't. That's the remarkable part.

Here's to hoping you have a memorable day out with your friends soon.

Now drop and give me 20. You have a deadline.

I knew things would look up. I'm so excited you will be going outside. I love Amsterdam.

You also get to shop for clothes. I love shopping and you can do it online. I wish I was there to give you a refashionista makeover but maybe someday. It would be so much fun.

Hi Rae,

Good to hear from you hope you are doing well?
The blog world is great for giving the opportunity to meet so many people all over the world.

Hi Naomi,

Thanks for your hooray thats what I felt when Ton said he was organising the team to come and check out how I sit.
Have my doubts that the adaptions will happen as quickly as I may like it too.
But will try to keep optimistic.

I think that if I have nice warm and comfortable clothes and I can go out then I will for sure and certainly after 1 year I am quite keen to go.
Look forward to seeeeeing some of this beautiful city again.
Love,
Herrad
