Silver and Gold On Grey Day

Swedish Art.

Today has been grey and very cloudy and cold with some looking very ominous as it there could be rain at any moment.

It has been a good day for birds visiting the bird feeders, lots of Great Tits and Blue Tits have been flying back and forth with peanuts.

A Blackbird came and inspected the window boxes and the strawberry plants and tried to eat some of the fat balls we have in open metal balls.

It was a shame that it could not balance properly so it flew off again after 3 minutes, I think that we will be sharing the strawberries with the blackbird this summer which is a charming thought

While waiting for Anja to come and visit Richie and I sorted through another of my drawers, it was good to do as so many things are no longer suitable in a wheelchair.

We filled another big plastic bag with clothes that someone else can use, threw out my speedo swim suit and cap which are both not worn more than a handful of times.

Hope someone gets good use out of the t-shirts and other stuff; I used to like big t-shirts to relax in and use to sleep in.

Now they are too big, there is too much material for both in the wheelchair and for in bed, in bed just a tiny wrinkle in the sheet can make me feel as if I am lying on a knife.

Just when we finished Anja came to visit with a pretty bunch of purple tulips, and I got a gorgeous card with pretty tulips.

The card was from Carole, Taxingwoman, in Canada, she regularly sends me cards which I like very much.

So nice to get nice post, these days the majority of post is burocratic post about the wheelchair or other mobility aid or the hoist.

Very nice to get a pretty card in the post from Carole every now and then, it is great to have an envelope opened and find a card from Canada.

I used to love to send postcards, must have bought loads in the eighties, used to enjoy finding new postcards and sending them to friends.

Got Anja to stick the card up on the wall right next to my bed where I can see the tulips in their glory.

Next week Thursday Steve will be in Amsterdam to visit us, which is just amazing as we never thought we would meet him.

Can hardly wait for 3.30 pm next week Thursday and to finally meet Steve, it has been good for us finding Steve’s blog The Wheel of Fortuna and meeting him and BobRobert.

Felt a strong connection to BobRobert and Steve very quickly and got much support and understanding from them.

Felt like they quickly became good friends, only thing that was missing was to be able to drop by and visit.

Next week this will be possible when Steve comes by and spends some time here.

Just visited The Wheel of Fortuna and read Steve’s post about the grief rollercoaster he is on right now.

Please go and visit him and leave a supportive message, important to let Steve know he is not alone.
