We Are What We Eat.

Spending the afternoon in the front room with Richie, the dogs have been entertaining me for hours now.

They have just started to concentrate on their food and going down the road to relieve their little bladders.

Their ideal would be food both times, but we are such heartless people we only give them one dinner.

Luckily they will soon get over this dreadful treatment and regain their equilibrium and play like crazy as soon as they have eaten.

Guess we are all cheered up after eating, calories are very important; sometimes too many are not good.

In 2008 I had become very thin as the effects of not being mobile and being able to work out like I used to become shockingly apparent.

The doctor recommended that I have a food supplement 2 x a day which I drank from June 2008 until May 2009.

Forgot to think about the effects on my body, did notice my stomach was bigger but somehow did not make the connection with everything I was eating.

Only realised just after Easter when Richie took some photos of me which shocked me so much that I have promptly stopped eating chocolate and foods with added sugar.

So no ice cream, cakes, tamarind balls, or treacle tart or fruit crumble with custard or any other delicious treats that Richie makes.

Instead I have been eating and enjoying lots of delicious fruit, all sorts too like pineapple and mango, blueberries, strawberries, apples, pears and mandarins

It has been a month nearly that I stopped and I can see some changes already in another month I will have lost some more.

Hope that by July my face will look like mine again as right now it only just looks like me, putting on weight has taken some of the definition out of my face.


Thinking of my darling makes me think about BobRobert and wonder how Steve is coping without his darling.

I know what you mean about your face being different. When I gained all that weight back in 2005/2006, I looked like a completely different person. I've almost lost it completely, and I see myself again! I've pretty much cut out all sugar, caffeine and processed foods, I've seen a huge difference in my digestion, skin, mood and sleep!

Food ... so good at times but evil. I have always fought the battle of weight. Yikes !!!

I recently looked at a photo on my bus pass that was taken in, maybe, 2000. (((shock!!))) I was 20-25# heavier and it really showed in my face.

I was walking better back then, too. Lord only knows how I took the weight off. And Lord only knows how I'm going to take off the additional 30-40# I need to lose, especially now that I can't walk (far). Alas, we ARE what we eat and DO.
