Coldest Friday in January Since 1963..

Slept very well last night after Richie and I had talked about how we were feeling about the recent events.

How shocked we both were when Richie discovered that there was an injury to my bottom,

We were both gutted and both were trying to keep calm at all costs..

My version of calm is to want to be in control of everything and my requests can sound like commands.

Glad we talked last night even if it was ridiculously late last night it was 3.30 am nearly 4 am when we noticed the time.

We were both sleeping pretty quick after the light was turned off, probably because we were both happy we had talked.

It certainly took any stress I was experiencing away also for Richie and left me with nothing to worry me, that I needed to think about.

I was recently given two blog awards by Kris @ Behold The Metatron

Herrad, I am very happy that you and Richie took the time to talk things over. Recent events probably shocked the both of you; I'm so glad that it turned out to be something minor. Still, how important for you two to talk about how it affected each of you.

Record cold temps, eh? Makes me chilled just to think about it. Are the canals freezing up? How are the doggies managing, especially Spike?

Herrad,
I'm sure you will get better of the skin problem.
Thank you very very much for the awards and congratulations!
You deserve them!

Ana

Dear Herrad,
thank you so very much. Hope that both of you are fine. Over here, outside, it is still warmer than inside of a fridge.
Stefan enjoys learning words and counts already until ten - half of the numbers in Greek and the other half in German. Helps after a long day, being forced to smile.
Back in 1963 I was still minus eleven - can't believe where time has gone. As soon as possible I'll check out the other sites you write. Please have you all a wonderful Sunday.

Hi Kelli,
Thanks for your concerned comment the skin breakdown. glad you like the Golden Paw Award for Maggie.
She looks like a lovely fun companion for you.

Hi Stephany,
Glad you like the Golden Paw Award too, I bet Koda is in his element now with all the snow and cold weather.
Finally he must be thinking after that dreadful summer some decent weather.

Hi Rain,
It was really good that we talked at such length, it certainly was good for us as we were both very relaxed the next day.

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your sweet comment, you are right Richie is a wonderful man.
He is always looking out for me.

Hi JC,
Nice to see your comment, glad you like the Golden Paw Award, it will look good no your blog log
.

Hi Gareth,
Lovely to see your comment, hope you are both snuggly warm and your folks too.
Ton and Ludwine are very good people, glad they are the ones supporting us.

Hi Webster,
You are right it was good we talked, we did really need it and it relaxed us so well afterwards that we both slept so well.
It is bitterly cold here with a northeasterly wind from Siberia and ice and snow.

Luckily Spike has his new coat to keep him warm so it helps cut down the discomfort for him outside.

Hi Ana,
I expect the skin to heal reasonably quickly
Glad you like the awards.
Meant to give you a Golden Paws for your lovely cat, so please pick up a Golden Paws and I will update the post now.

Hi Robert,
Good to see your comment, 1963 is a long way away now, I was in Eschweiler at a nun's boarding school Liebfrauen Schule.
They had the windows open all winter in the dormitories and we had to break the ice in our water jugs every morning during the freeze.
Have a good Sunday too.

Hi Rhapsody,
Lovely to see your comment, I will tell Richie how you praise him, its good for him to get such positive feedback.

Thanks everyone fro coming be by, it is lovely to see your comments, they really boost me no end.
Keep warm.
Love,
Herrad

Why did the nun's have the windows open during the winter?

Have you read about solar minimums that we are experiencing right now...and which is contributing to the climate getting colder.

Love looking at all your pictures. I found your blog through Erika over at Every Day is a Present...because of the Gold Blog award. I look forward to looking at the other blog awards that you have given.

Love the pictures of where you live.
