Tea And Thc.

Last night, Richie made me some new sleepy tea he had found at the Persian shop on the Kinkerstraat, it seemed to really do the trick.

Together with some THC it made me extremely sleepy and I was fast asleep as soon as Richie had switched the light off last night.

During the night I disturbed several times, felt quite warm, and woke up this morning feeling very uncomfortable.

My arms were outside the duvet so covered myself and tried to sleep on, got very warm and had to uncover myself again and again.

My moaning made Richie get up and come over, he asked me how I was and checked my catheter bag which he found was alarmingly empty

I panicked for a moment when I thought that Richie could not unblock the tube and then thought he said the catheter had popped out.

Because I had felt moisture I thought the little bag of saline water that is used to flush through the catheter had burst.

Right away I worried that all this would require that I be hoisted out of bed immediately.

Instead things seemed to be better than I had thought, the catheter was still in place and the tube blockage was resolved and urine was filling the bag.

What a relief for me, it was really good that the problem was over so quickly; Richie immediately did my leg exercises and got me my baclofen tablets.

So after an initial bad moment was over, I realised that the tea and THC combination had been instrumental in my being able to sleep.

Glad I had such a peaceful night, if it had not been for the tea and THC, I would have been moaning all night.

It is good that Richie can sort out these problems; otherwise we would have had to call the out of hour’s medical team.

We had to do this several times in the past and three times we had doctors here who were not sure how to place a catheter.

Glad I managed to stay calm on each occasion, recall thinking that shouting would just make me feel worse, rather than better.

These days my aim is to do everything I can to make me feel better,

I'm glad you were able to sleep! Those sleepy teas work wonders. I love them, they help me too. Enjoy your Sunday! It's sunny and cold here, but that's okay, I plan to hibernate!!!

Herrad,
You are such an inspiration. To be able to stay so calm in these situations and in your realisation that some things are harder to do.I think about you every day and hope that I can face my situations with the dignity that you do.
Thank you for all my recent awards! Barnaby & Kit Kat say a big thanks too! They feel very special to have been thought about! I will mention all these on my blog at some point soon, I promise!
I am so glad to hear that you were able to sleep. I have been having severe pain issues recently, which has been affecting my sleep, so it is good to hear that someone is able to get a good night!
I hope you have had a good weekend and that the week ahead is a pleasent one for you.
Thinking of you and sending you, Richie and the dogs, lots of love & big hugs

Tea can do that.

Dear Herrad, hopefully you are fine. Driking tea now for more than two years, after having more than a litre of coffee before, it was indeed a joy to see the change that tea brought.
Wishing you all a very nice start into the new month and week as well.

Hi Herrad:)

Greetings and good wishes:)

This is a truly inspirational post for people like me who make a mountain out of mole hill. We moan and groan over insignificant things. You are just wonderful and shining example of valour and courage and strenght for weaklings like me.

The photos are excellent.

I was astounded to read that doctors did not know how to place a catheter. I wonder why a nurse is not coming along with the doctor. Why are the doctors not trained to do these things? In emergencies such doctors will not be able to do much except add to the patients difficulties.

My prayers and best wishes to you Herrad:)
Joseph

Hi Herrad,
Sorry you had a bumpy night last night. Catheters suck, but not having one sucks worse. In the end, it is what it is, and not worth getting all bothered about.

Nice that you found a good sleepy time tea.

Have a good day.

Herrad - Skip's been having some blockages, too, of late. As someone else noted, it's quite surprising that visiting docs don't know how to change them, since it's so simple. I had Skip's urologist's nurse show me how to insert one 15 or 20 years ago and have been handling the changes ever since.

Hi Friko,
Thanks for coming by, I used to deny that I was brave and say I am just being me.
Then Richie explained brave to me, now I do not mind.
Thanks for your kind comment.

Hi Robert,
This tea is a mixture of valerian, melisse, chamomile, peppermint and a few others and it is good for relaxing me and together with the thc allows me to sleep.
You are right tea after coffee produces quite a change.

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for coming by and for your kind comment.
The doctors all eventually placed the catheter but it took time.
I recall I kept talking to them as if nothing was happening trying to keep us all calm.

Hi Webster,
Lovely to see your comment.
If it had not been for the tea & thc I would have had a horrible night with very little sleep.
You are right it is not worth getting bothered by.

Thanks everyone for coming by, hope you all have a good day.
It is snowing again here, the third shower after a beautiful sunny start to the day.
Keep warm.
Love,
Herrad

Hi Cranky,
Thanks for coming by, good to see your comment.
Will visit your blog as soon as I have posted this.
Have a good day.
Love,
Herrad
ps
Do you also use small bags of saline to flush the blokkages?
The out of hours doctors mostly had no personal experience.
It's better since Richie can do this too, so like you he takes care of all that.

Herrad - when we need to irrigate, we use an irrigation kit that contains a big syringe that I load up with saline to flush out the bladder. A bag os saline sounds more convenient.

Glad Richie can take care of this for you since, as you say, the docs don't have the personal experience. Of course, here in Massachusetts (and the US in general), docs don't come to the house, only visiting nurses.

Have a lovely day!

Hi Cranky,

Thanks for your visit and comment.

Am amazed that in th US no doctors come by if needed.

We are lucky that our doctor visits frequently.

Have a good afternoon.

Herrad
