Pleasant Friday Afternoon.
Despite a good nights sleep still very sleepy today, it has been quite sunny today and Richie tells me it is warm in the sun with a cold wind.
Just after we woke Richie did the leg exercises and massaged my legs which was very pleasant, especially afterwards.
After taking the morning baclofen and washing face and brushing teeth I was ready for the day.
Richie switched on the radio and we heard about Alan Turing the man who had cracked the German code during the 2nd World War.
He was arrested and subjected to interogation and put on trial and sentenced to either prison or chemical castration.
He chose chemical castration and he committed suicide two years later at the age of 41.
We were both incredulous about this, how could this brilliant man, who literally saved so many people by cracking the code be treated like that.
How indeed could anyone be treated like that, it is despicable that people should be discriminated against because of their sex or the colour of their skin.
Was too upset to write my post so instead posted newspaper articles here and on my Dutch blog.
After I posted Gareth Skyped me and we chatted for quite awhile, which was very pleasant.
When we said goodbye there was another Skype call from another friend Jeanet, a pleasant surprise, thought it was Gareth again.
In this very pleasant way the afternoon went by amd it is now early evening, can smell stew and dumplings we will be having for dinner soon.
Have a great time.

Stew and dumplings sounds good, I love the flower photos!
Hi Stephany,
Lovely to see your comment, the stew and dumplings was delicious and Richie made a nice pear and mincemeat pastry.
Have a pleasant evening.
Love,
Herrad
Flowers, nature's way to smile.
A smiling weekend for you as well.
Turing was a fascinating man, so sad he was treated that way. Thanks for the award, I shall be sharing soon, just wanted to say hey.
Andy
beautiful flowers, herrad!!
What beautiful flowers, Herrad, thank you for them, it was nice seeing them first thing in the morning.
Your dinner sounds so good to me, dumplings with stew, how delicious. You know, I could eat that for breakfast, like a Chinese woman. I like to change my meals, dinner for breakfast, breakfast for dinner.
I wish you a lovely day today!
Hi Robert,
Hope you have a smiling weekend and great enjoyment with your partner and your lovely little boy Stefan.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for coming by, really appreciate it very much.
Always good to see your comment.
Really sad that Alan Turing was treated like that, we were both sad yesterday when we heard.
I just assumed that the person who had cracked the enigma code were treated exceptionally well so it was a shocker hearing that he was more or less hounded to his death.
Hi Libby,
Glad you like the flowers.
Hi Celeste Maia,
Thew flowers are gorgeous aren't they, I needed them yesterday.
I know what you mean about eating stew for breakfast, love doing that too.
Think that eating anything left for breakfast is a great idea.
Like the idea of pasta for breakfast and bread and cheese for dinner.
Thanks you lovely people for coming by, hope you all have a good weekend.
Love,
Herrad
Love your photos. I did not know about Turing. What an appalling thing!
You are delightful!!!
