I am enjoying all the moments today

Heard from Richie last night that the park was getting frozen, all the water was iced up again.

It is another relaxed day which I am really enjoying very much, it has been raining all day and all the snow has gone now.

A good friend Cecile came round to visit us which was very nice, we drank a glass of proseccio and caught up on the last couple of months.

Not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon, even though it is such a dark rainy day it was noticeable that it was already getting dark later.

Nice to see that happening on the 2nd of February this has given me a huge boost which I really needed right now.

Watched Terry Pritchard giving the Dimbleby lecture on BBC last night, where he calls for a change in the law so people can chose when they die.

It was a moving lecture read by Tony Robinson (Balderick in Blackadder on TV) because Terry can’t read so well anymore.

He has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and does not want to be dependant on care when his disease progresses and he can no longer look after himself.

What he emphases was that he did not want to die, he like me needs to know that we can say ‘’ now it is enough, let me die now’’ and our wishes are respected so we can live now.

Live fully now and enjoy the moments without any worries about what the future holds.

I am enjoying all the moments today and am looking forward to another day tomorrow and what the new day brings.

Sounds like a nice visit and day, and you always keep reminding others of choices, you're a good advocate for yourself and also bringing attention to a topic most people don't want to talk about, or think about.

HUGS!!

I agree, it is a taboo subject, but should not be. The most certain thing in life is death, and we should not hide from it. Hiding makes it too scary if we are in denial right? I think you're so strong Herrad. I'm so glad you had some yummy proseccio and a nice visit! It's ice cold here because of the wind! I'm hibernating! :)

Thanks for pointing out the simple things life gives. A glass of liquor, a rainy day to keep you inside, a fine meal, conversation, the wherewithall to appreciate simple things. Freedom of choice, freedom to make decisions. These are not as simple as they might appear. Love, Mary

Dear Herrad, hope you are feeling fine. Indeed it is the might of a moment, that provides the next step. It was only a few days ago that the thought of spelling me a name while seeing blossoms on the ground "carryied" me through the day.
Wishing you two all the best and thank you once again for beig a great teacher.
p.s.: For me, Balderick remains one of the best characters I've ever seen.

Hello Herrad:)

Greetings and good wishes:)

The following words of yours left a deep impression on me:

Live fully now and enjoy the moments without any worries about what the future holds.

Yes, we always worry about the future and fear what the future has in store for us. We forget the present and forget to enjoy the moment. The lovely moments slip through our fingers like grains of sand through a sieve.

Your words left a deep impression on me.

Many thanks for the lovely photos and wonderful words of wisdom.

Have a nice day Herrad:)
Joseph

Hi Rain,
You are right we should not hide, everything should be debate able.
Nothing should be hidden and we must not be treated like children who can not think for themselves.

Hi Mary,
You are right freedom of choice and freedom to make decisions is very important along with the freedom to think.

Hi Kris,
It was a good day and a great visit.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for coming by and reading.

Hi Joseph,
It is important to enjoy right here and now, but difficult as we are all brought up to think of the future.

Hi Webster,
It was great fun and as Richie says small pleasures can make the day.

Thanks everyone for coming by.
Hope your day was good mine was and so was my evening.
Have a good Thursday.
Keep warm.
Love,
Herrad
