A Brief Glimpse Of Sunshine.

Curious Art.

Last night had quite some trouble getting off to sleep, in the end had to wake Richie up for some THC which did the trick.

Slept soundly after that until 11 am, this morning when I woke up quite calmly unlike yesterday when I had to cry, glad I did as it really relieved the pressure.

Have learned that crying is a good thing, I used to feel bad, feel I was letting myself go, worried people would find me too emotional and therefore difficult.

Now I know that it is best to let it all out, much better than bottling it all up and instead of a few tears it becomes a major crisis.

There was a brief 5 minute or so of sunshine at 1.30 pm and everything looked so pretty, but as soon as it happened it stopped and now it is back to being, grey, cloudy and wet.

Yesterday I went for a roll around in the apartment, up to now I have been concentrating on sitting up in the chair.

Only managed 4 straight hours the once when Gareth and Paul were visiting, did not realise quite how tiring sitting up would be or how much work it would be.

It is gradually getting to feel ok sitting in the wheelchair, we are going to have a good look at my clothes tomorrow.

Saw a few items last night sadly the warmest a really great fleece is too difficult to put on me, hoping Marianne a good friend of ours can alter it for me.

Hope so as it would be great if I could wear it as then I would be pretty warm and going out would be a pleasant experience.

I am a little bit preoccupied today with the guilty verdicts in Italy, in Perugia of the two young people convicted of killing Meredith Kurcher.

As a criminologist I did not hear of any actual evidence to place Amanda Knox in the room when the murder happened.

They seem to have convicted her solely by character assassination.

Hope that this will come out, it is one thing to convict on evidence but another to do that based on conjecture.

Knox's family and friends describe her as a normal all-American girl which is very different from the prosecutions depictions of her as a sex-crazed, hate-filled diabolical vixen.

It is appalling she seems to have been convicted on such flimsy evidence, but I guess they needed to find her guilty.

They need this done and dusted, so the city can get on with its business, its main one, which is students, especially foreign students.

Unless the appeal is moved to another city I doubt whether the case will be reviewed properly, can’t see the Appeal Court in Perugia contradicting the Court.

Suddenly realise it is already dark, I do not mind so much that the nights are darker but find it difficult to accept that the days are so short.

Have a good weekend

Hi Herrad!! That first photo you chose was how I felt getting up this morning, lol! :)
I'm sure it must be tiring having muscles working to keep you seated, ones you haven't been using. I spent nearly 2 years in bed/very sedentary, I remember how tiring it was to do simple tasks. I hope you get more sunshine tomorrow!

I totally agree with your assesment of the Knox case. Having a daughter in soccer for many years, I managed to get to know the girls very well. I never met one that matches the way she was protrayed. They said she was a "hippy" type - which is also the polar opposite of what they said she was in Italy. People don't change that fast. If she was a sex-crazed drug addict there would have been signs long before Italy. Plus they failed to make the case with anything other than circumstantial evidence. Very sad. I, for one, would not send my child to Italy for a semester away. In fact I am rethinking our trip to Italy in 2010.

I'm glad you are up and around. Going outside would be great, I think. I found accessable clothes for an aunt of mine, but it was the same place you mentioned in an earlier post.

Tears can be a release, for sure. Love and light coming your way.

Herrad - greetings! Glad to read of you wheeling around and working on getting warm clothes ready for going out.

Hi Herrad,

Oh my - getting used to sitting upright can be very tiring...especially since you haven't worked those muscles in a while. But... as each day passes, you are growing stronger and THAT is a wonderful thing :)

I agree with your description of the Amanda Knox case..it is very tragic. The media here in the US have been covering the story quite well...but the verdict left me saddened.

Cheers for more sunshine!

Hi Herrad,

I could not agree with you more, a good cry does wonders for the soul. CONGRATULATIONS on your mobility. Life and MS had me busy the last couple of month. Sorry I was not around to congratulate you when you got your wheels :)

I agree with you about the Knox case, it was sensationalize in the press, she never had a chance.

Enjoy your weekend!

Herrad, most of the time you are a rock. You handle your situation with great aplomb. Just remember this: Erosion is pretty. Sometimes the rock has to crumble a bit; it's the natural way of things.

Re: Amanda Knox - I agree with your considered assessment of things. There was no evidence to convict, just character assassinations and innuendo. I would never travel to Italy for this reason alone. What a messed up judicial system they have. Travelers beware -this is one more thing to check on when getting your visas. What rights do you have if you are arrested, for any reason?

well, Knox was in the apartment, and Mez is dead. and there's Knox's own first declaration that she later withdrew.
i've not been following the case, since there are quite some more heavy cases to follow in Italy, but i really wouldn't jump to too quick conclusions...

anyway, it's great reading about your chair-rockin' and rolling!

i have a cold (sniiipverkouden) so i'll stay glued to my compu chair today and some days more i'm afraid.

big hug!

Hi Stephany,
Thanks for visiting, the evening was good, hope yours was too.

Hi Rain,
Thanks for coming by.
Sunshine is not to be at the moment but who knows maybe soon.

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your visit, you are right the only evidence thy had against Amanda Knox was circumstantial.
Her finger prints in the house was obvious she lived there.
Seemed to be a character assination, based on cultural norms.

Hi Jo,
Thanks for your visit and award, I have passed it on to everyone who visits my blog.

Hi Cranky,
Thanks fro your visit, still looking for clothes.
Hope you are doing well.

Hi Marit,
Thanks for your visit, you are right sitting again after so long is very tiring.
The verdict for Amanda Knox was very disappointing, conviction should be on hard evidence not circumstantial or character assination.

Hi Debra,
Thanks for your visit, you are right a good cry is very good.
Sorry to hear you have been struggling with your MS.
Hope you are doing well right now.

Hi Libby,
Thanks for coming by, I am sitting slow and steady taking each day at a time.

Hi Carole,
Thanks for your visit, the weather was rain all day yesterday.
Still had an good day, hope you did too.

Hi Webster,
Thanks for your visit and rock comment which is very good and true.
Amanda Knox trial was very bad no hard evidence except her fingerprints, she lived there so that is not evidence.

Hi Cecile,
Hope you get better soon, sitting is going slowly and getting better slowly too.
I think you would have needed to follow the case, to see she was convicted on circumstantial evidence, of course her prints were in the house she lived there.
And people being coerced by police to making confessions is well known.
A conviction based on circumstational evidence and character assination is not safe I think.
Also did you know she was told she had HIV and was asked for a list of her partners, she gave it and was then told he did not have hiv and the prosecution gave it to the press.

Thank everyone for coming by.
Good to get your comments.
Have a good week.
Love,
Herrad
