World Cup Final The Netherlands v Spain.

Amazingly I slept well again last night with the fan under the mosquito net had a moment of panic when I woke at 7.30 and discovered that was wet.

Thought that meant the catheter had come out and I was lying in a puddle of urine, Richie came over right away and checked me over.

Turned out that I was wet from sweat not urine which was a big relief to both of us, Richie got me a bag of THC vapour.

This got me off to sleep again and I slept until 11.30 which were wonderful as I really need to get lots of sleep.

There was a huge thunderstorm here last night that started with a roll of thunder and a flash of lighting but then it seemed to more away from the city.

We thought it had passed us by but suddenly it was back overhead and it was a huge thunder storm.

It poured with rain and we could hear people shrieking as they tried to get into their cars and get away.

Really thought that today would not be a sunny day as it usually is not after a thunderstorm, but for once summer has come back and it is hot again.

Glad it is a hot day for all the people looking forward to watching the final tonight of the World Cup, can hear people getting ready for tonight.

Wish that it were cooler so that my day could be better as I am already wiped out by this heat and it is only just 12, midday.

26 C is good for me 27 is still good if only just but anything above that is horrible, and I spend my time sitting in the wheelchair with the fan right next to me.

Glad I that I have managed to write this now as I can feel my fingers starting to get floppy and difficult to use.

Am going to stop now and post this with some pictures I found last night so that I did not have to struggle today.

Going to take it easy and hope to enjoy the day even when I am too floppy to do anything, too hot for me to go out as my hand can not function well enough for me to steer the chair.

Despite all the MS pain and problems I am happy to be here with my darling Richie.

I just hope the game's as good as the 3rd/4th place play-off, last night. I feel a bit sorry for Diego Forlan - he's been massive in this tournament, and was last night, too.

Anyway, keep Villa, Iniesta and Xavi quiet - that's my only advice!

Hi Matt,
I am hoping for a good game too, agree shame Diego Forlan did not get the winnning goal as he was outstanding.
Would had liked them to win.
The neighbours are on the street outside getting ready for the game.

Hello Herrad:)

Greetings and good wishes:)

I am glad to read that you can enjoy the world cup. I have been so much into these matches that some times I hardly get to sleep because the play starts in the middle of the night. Although octopus Paul has predicted a Spanish victory, I feel Netherlands has a good chance of getting the cup because they have wonderful players specially Robben and Sneider.

I will be awake in the night to watch this exciting match.

My prayers and best wishes. Many thanks for visiting me.
Joseph

Hi Herrad!

I hope you have a pleasant Sunday evening and a good rest, and hope the weather cools down. It's been in the 90's here and today maybe down to 80 degrees, lots of fans in the house day and night!

HUGS

As I write this there is no score, but Holland have 5 yellow cards.

I can't stand the heat, so i am very glad to be living in the UK. here in the hills it is a comfortable 23 degrees.

Hope you'll cope with continental temperatures and are enjoying the football.

I hope you were able to watch the match comfortably! It's over 32ÂșC here... and humid! so the heat is really hard to deal with! :o(

And sorry to the Dutch, but indeed THE BEST TEAM WON!

CAMPEONES! OHE! OHE! OHE!!!! :o)

got to bed really late last night after the celebrations, and now enjoying the "special show" about the team's "victory lap" around Madrid with stops to visit the King and the President and emotional speeches from everyone! :o)

Hi Cris,
Glad Spain won, hope they inspire kids all over the world to play beautiful football.
Enjoy this wonderful week after Spains glorious win yesterday.
Love,
Herrad
ps
I watched the game in comfort thanks.
Here its gone quiet and depressed, all the joyful anticipation and happiness has seemingly drained away.
Shame the Dutch team could not play football and upset and disapointed the country. Johan Cruyf was very upset he said all three Dutch players should have been sent off.
